The Hyundai i10 has always been a decent mini hatch, boasting a number of extra features over the VW Up!, Skoda Citigo, and Seat Mii, but has the facelifted version got any better?
CarBuyer's James Batchelor believes that, despite going through a few visual and technical updates, the small hatch remains as good as its predecessor, with good quality plastics inside for this price range, sufficient rear legroom and headroom, and a decent size boot.
Ordering the entry-level model won't get you many items from the options list, but this can be solved by selecting the mid-range or top-of-the-line trim grades. And if you still feel the need to have just a bit more, then you can always go ahead and add the optional Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Detection, which are available as a pack, for less than £300 ($385).
On the open road, the 2017 Hyundai i10 feels comfortable, and offers good grip, but it can be quite tricky to find the ideal driving position, due to the steering wheel adjustment, which only goes up and down.
Sound proofing is good too, at least for this segment, and while the test car came with a 1-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine, with 66hp, which takes some 15sec to go from 0 to 62mph (100km/h), it oddly doesn’t feel that slow, according to the reviewer.
