It appears that after its Geneva Motor Show debut, deliveries of the Range Rover Velar have commenced.
Carscoops reader Alexander Arroyo-Baudet managed to snap an eye-catching, gloss black Velar being delivered to a BMW dealership in Munich, Germany and believes it could be the country’s first Velar.
While seeing a Velar is a novelty at the moment, it won’t be like that for long. As sales and deliveries of the sports crossover reach full steam around the world, the sleek and luxurious off-roader should become a common sight, much like rivals including the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
Slotting below the full-size Range Rover in Land Rover’s line-up, the Velar debuts a sporty new look dominated by thin headlights and taillights, short front and rear overhangs and a tapered roof that creates slim side windows and a sporty look.
In Europe, the Velar will be available with a host of engines, including a 180 PS and 240 PS 2.0-liter four, a 300 PS 3.0-liter V6 diesel, and a pair of petrol powertrains delivering 250 PS and 380 PS. North American buyers will be able to choose between a 247 hp 2.0-liter turbo petrol, a 380 hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 and a 180 hp 2.0-liter diesel.
