350HP Seat Arosa Gives Supercars A Run For Their Money On The Nurburgring

Remember the Seat Arosa? No? That's okay, because we'll remind you that this was the Spanish brand's version of the Volkswagen Lupo.

This was long before the Germans released the Up!, which is also being sold as a Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo, and it was a small hatchback with room for four that never really stood out.

It's not hard to understand why, as its reduced size and small engines made it more practical around cities than, you know, for its fast lap times on tracks.

However, the example featured on film here has exceeded its stock performance, and if the information provided by the uploader is correct, then it makes an impressive 350 horses, from a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine that was tweaked by Turbotechnik.

That's a massive improvement over the original powertrain, a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated unit rated at 45hp. The new lump is said to have come from a Seat Ibiza Cupra, and besides this upgrade, the small Arosa also features Audi S2 brakes, and semi-slick tires.

The 3-door hatch was eager to prove itself on the Nurburgring, where it managed to keep up with a bunch of sports cars and supercars, confirming that if done right, tuning jobs can amaze.
