The modern Fiat 500 is celebrating its 2,000,000th example built, with the company delivering the car to its new owner in Germany.
The milestone came just days after the iconic Italian city car turned 60 years old. The two-millionth example is a 500S model finished in Passione Red and powered by the turbocharged 105hp 0.9-liter two-cylinder TwinAir engine.
The S version of the Fiat 500 is the sportiest of the range this side of an Abarth and is distinguished by its bespoke body kit that includes front and rear bumpers, side sills and spoilers, in addition to the exclusive satin graphite details. A set of 16-inch matte black alloys completes the specs.
More than 200,000 Germans have bought a Fiat 500 over the years, with the Italian city car enjoying the biggest growth in the segment in Germany this year. It’s by miles Fiat’s most successful model in the range, with 80 percent of all 500s sold outside Italy.
To mark the occasion, Fiat created a video showing the two-millionth example’s journey from production to handover.
