The 2018 Acura MDX begins arriving at dealerships tomorrow, after receiving updated tech features and two new exterior color options.
For MY2018, Acura has given the MDX a redesigned dual-screen user interface that now features more intuitive menus and command structures. Also new is the seven-inch capacitive touchscreen display which now offers 30 percent faster response time.
The new and sharper infotainment system also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. As with the other Acura models, the 2018 Acura MDX now offers the brand’s latest suite of active safety systems under the name AcuraWatch.
AcuraWatch includes active safety features like Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with low-speed follow and Road Departure Mitigation. Acura has also added two new colors in the MDX’s palette: Basque Red and the San Marino Red, as seen on the opening image.
Power comes from a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 petrol with direct injection, making 290hp and 267lb-ft of peak torque. Customers can go for either the front-wheel drive version or the all-wheel drive one that utilizes Acura’s Super Handling-All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system.
Front-driven models offer an EPA fuel economy rating of 20 mpg city/27 highway/23 combined while all-wheel drive models get 19 mpg city/26 highway/22 combined.
Pricing for the 2018 Acura MDX starts at $45,175 MSRP, including a $975 destination and handling fee, for the FWD model. If you want the all-wheel drive MDX, then you’ll have to spend two grand more, at $47,175.
