This is a race with some clear and obvious winners but that wasn’t the point; the point was to demonstrate how BMW has laid out its M cars, starting from the M2 all the way up to the M6.
That doesn’t mean that there are no surprises hidden in this drag and rolling race; we don’t want to spoil anything but let’s just say that a certain car proved to be nippy enough.
In terms of performance, the M5 30 Jahre and the M6 Competition Package are the ones to top the charts as they are both motivated by a 600 horsepower version of the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. The M4 Competition Package trails behind with just 450 horses out of its twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six unit but if we learned anything from the past is that the M4 is an absolute beast, on a straight line at least.
How does the 370 horsepower M2 compare to its bigger brothers? Will it be able to keep up or will it fall behind from the get-go? CarWow’s latest video has all the answers.
