The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the most powerful sport utility vehicle ever created and it appears the brand is open to developing other performance-oriented models.
Speaking with Drive, Jeep's Scott Tallon said there are only a handful of companies building performance crossovers and SUVs "so as this space develops, there could be an opportunity for anyone to capitalize on it." He went on to say the company could introduce future Trackhawk models "as long as it meets our internal benchmarks, like the [Grand Cherokee] Trackhawk we have here today, I think it's something worth taking a closer look at."
Tallon said the company doesn't have any immediate plans for additional Trackhawk vehicles but, when asked, said a Renegade Trackhawk would be "intriguing."
There's no suggestion the model is currently in the works but a Renegade Trackhawk could be relatively easy to produce as Abarth offers an assortment of high-performance engines. In the meantime, the Renegade can be equipped with an optional a 2.4-liter MutliAir four-cylinder which develops 180 hp (134 kW) and 175 lb-ft (237 Nm) of torque.
