World's Smallest Car Dealership Is A Peugeot London Phone Box

Normally we wouldn’t cover stories announcing a new car dealership, unless we're looking at an exotic brand that decided to expand its operations in other countries.

However, the opening of the smallest car dealership in the world couldn’t have gone by unnoticed, especially since it's in a London phone box. The K6-series unit opens for business on September 12, in Russell Square, and was converted into an online showroom by Peugeot.

Customers need to simply walk in and use the e-commerce 'Order Online' system, after they gained access by receiving a special code using the brand's website here. Once inside, they will find a tablet connected to the e-commerce portal, where they can browse, configure, finance, and order a new car, in minutes.

"Not that many years ago, the process of buying a new car involved reading lots of printed literature and trawling around Dealerships. Now, despite a car being the second-largest purchase most people make in a lifetime, it can be done from anywhere – even from inside a phone box", said the brand's Managing director, David Peel.

The company's online ordering system is already functional, and the first order was placed on the website within 12 hours of the system being launched. Since then, nearly a million users have completed more than 134,000 vehicle configurations, and received more than 35,000 part exchange valuations.

The most popular car ordered through this system is the Peugeot 208, as it accounts for two in every five vehicles bought.
