Vehicles destroyed by Hurricane Harvey have started to trickle onto the market and this 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is one of the first we’ve come across.
Currently residing at Texas World Speedway alongside thousands of other flood-damaged cars and listed by Copart, this Camaro ZL1 has an estimated retail value of $67,947 and at the time of writing, had attracted a highest bid of $18,200.
The description says that the car has zero miles under its belt but this isn’t an accurate figure. Instead, it is simply listed as having 0 miles because the muscle car’s electronics have been destroyed by water and the true mileage cannot be determined.
Nevertheless, the fact that this ZL1 is a 2017 model inevitably means that it hadn’t covered a huge number of miles before the hurricane hit.
The car is being sold with a non-repairable flood title meaning it can only be used for spare parts. The engine and transmission can probably be salvaged and rebuilt and most of the exterior and interior parts appear free of any noticeable damage. As a result, there’s a good chance that many of the car’s parts will land on or in different ZL1s around the country.
