German tuning company Mcchip-DKR is currently in the process of building a one-off Bentley Mulsanne Coupe.
Rumors of a Mulsanne Coupe have been circulating for years, but so far the project has failed to materialize and it seems unlikely it will do so in the foreseeable future.
Not dissuaded by Bentley’s reluctance to build such a vehicle, Mcchip-DKR has taken things into its own hands and is working on making the Mulsanne Coupe a reality. As you’d imagine, such a project isn’t easy and the tuner has been forced to entirely re-engineer the luxury vehicle’s roof.
To do so, they’ve used carbon fiber extensively while also creating a new aluminum skin for the C-pillars and sections of bodywork where the rear doors used to be.
One could argue that a Bentley Mulsanne Coupe makes more sense now than ever before. Previously, it seemed somewhat short-sighted of Bentley to consider such a vehicle considering the sales it would steal from the Continental. However, with the new Continental now sportier than ever, the carmaker has the opportunity to favor luxury and ride comfort over everything else in designing a Mulsanne Coupe.
