BMW’s M Division might already be developing the next-generation M3, but after looking at this F80 model you’ll surely agree that the sports sedan still looks alluring.
Since there are always people not satisfied with the stock item, they choose to modify their ride, most likely with a different shade or aftermarket parts. Take, for example, this particular M3 that’s painted in matte black, a finish that accentuates the prominent body lines and creases across the car’s exterior.
To give the vehicle some extra presence, a set of 20-inch two-piece Brixton Forged PF1 Duo Series wheels finished in Satin Black have also been fitted, while additional upgrades include KW coilovers, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, downpipes and a new intake.
As the F80 M3 uses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine rather than a naturally-aspirated V8 engine of its predecessor, it has received some flak by enthusiasts who preferred the V8’s raucous soundtrack and instant throttle response. However, the addition of forced induction results in significantly more torque, ensuring that the current M3 is faster than the E92, despite its smaller engine. The key figures sit at 425 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, more than enough for most, even though the car’s German competitors, like the Mercedes-Benz C63 S, have a healthy dose of additional grunt.
Well, the next generation should rectify this – plus, 425hp is, in our books, more than enough, unless you want to go drag racing.
