- The stock Mercedes-AMG A45 is already one of the most impressing hot hatchbacks in the world, although with Posaidon’s upgrades, it can easily overcome its initial purpose.
- An upgraded turbocharger, tweaked air intake, revised air cooling, water-methanol injection system, tuned ECU, spark plugs derived from motorsport and a new exhaust system have drastically transformed this compact car.
- (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The result is a staggering 550PS (542hp) and 660Nm (487lb-ft) of torque. The latter figure was actually limited by the tuner, and the output represents a 169PS (167hp) and 185Nm (136lb-ft) of torque increase over the stock model, which needs 4.2sec for the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) acceleration.
- Mercedes-AMG’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine works together with a revised seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which channels the output to all four corners.
- This isn’t Posaidon’s first foray into this vehicle, as a couple of years ago, they presented a modified example with 485PS (478hp) and 556Nm (410lb-ft) of torque. That one could accelerate all the way up to 311km/h (193mph), and had better brakes, so it’s safe to say that this latest project will be even quicker.
- Meanwhile, those that would rather wait for the Germans to unveil the new A45 are also in for a treat. The range-topping member of the A-Class family will arrive with more than 400 horsepower, and is rumored to get a special ‘Drift’ mode, just like the Ford Focus RS. Affalterbach might launch it in 2019 or 2020.
