Bridge-to-Gantry cites observers close enough to see the pitlane, reporting that a bright green Weissach-equipped GT3 RS has managed to set not one but three fast laps that are comfortably under 7 minutes, and the fastest of which to be around 6min and 56 seconds.
If this is true then the latest iteration of the GT3 RS is not only stunningly fast around the iconic track but is also just nine seconds off the lap time set by the much more powerful 911 GT2 RS.
What’s more, Porsche will have another opportunity to improve the 991.2 GT3 RS’s lap time this week. XThiloX posted a video showing the bright green test car lapping the Nurburgring today.
The latest version of the mighty 911 GT3 RS is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, producing 512hp (520PS) and 346lb-ft (468Nm) of torque. Paired to a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the new GT3 RS is capable of a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 3.2 seconds and of a 193mph (312km/h) top speed.
