Facelifted Kia Optima Family Launched In The UK

Kia’s updated Optima models are now up for grabs at dealers across the United Kingdom, with a starting price of £22,260 ($28,822).

The aforementioned sum is for the base saloon ‘2’ grade, powered by a 1.6-liter diesel engine that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment includes the 7-inch infotainment system with sat-nav and Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone A/C, cruise control with speed limiter, 17-inch alloy wheels, Hill-Start Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring and others.

Grade ‘3’ has a starting price of £24,260 ($31,411) for the saloon and £25,300 ($32,758) for the Sportswagon, and adds an 8-inch touchscreen inside, 4.3-inch instrument cluster, Harman/Kardon sound system, power adjustable driver’s seat, rear privacy glass, 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome accents. Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning and Speed Limited Information Function are also standard.

The Kia Optima GT-Line S has an MSRP of £31,400 ($40,656) and it’s strictly limited to the estate body style. It gets a panoramic sunroof, black leather upholstery with red stitching, alloy pedals, wireless smartphone charger, 360-degree camera system, LED headlights, Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Smart Park Assist System, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist and more.

Kia has also revealed the starting price of the Optima Sportswagon GT, retailing from £33,350 ($43,181). Paying a premium over the GT-Line S gets you not just more standard gear and enhanced mechanical parts, but also a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine, rated at 245PS (242hp / 180kW) and 353Nm (260lb-ft) of torque. It’s married to a six-speed automatic gearbox and can take you to 100km/h (62mph) in 7.4sec (60mph/96km/h in 7.3sec).
