
On paper, the new Veloster N has everything it takes, starting with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine kicking out up to 275hp and 260lb-ft of torque, a short-throw six-speed manual with auto rev-matching and a chassis honed -where else?- at the Nurburgring.
The powertrain is combined with an active exhaust system that provides a proper angry soundtrack in its sportiest setting. The manual gearbox features carbon-coated synchro rings and gear reinforcement for smoother operation and a more precise feel.
Hyundai says that the Veloster N’s front suspension is designed specifically to offer a sharper turn in and limit torque steer, while the electronically controlled dampers allow it to be more compliant in everyday driving.
