There are fast GTs, very fast GTs, and then there’s the Ferrari 812 Superfast; why, even pure mid-engined supercars can’t match its ferocity on a straight line.
Ferrari is the kind of company that decided to replace the already insanely powerful 740hp F12 with an even more powerful model. The result is a front-engined sports car that poses as a grand tourer and is powered by a normally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 that revs up to 8,900rpm and makes 800PS (789hp) at 8,500rpm and 530lb-ft of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
As you would imagine, this kind of power brings some insane performance figures to the table, with Ferrari claiming a 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 2.9 seconds, while 0-124mph (0-200km/h) comes in a breathtaking 7.9 seconds.
How does this translate in the real world? Watch Motorsport Magazine’s onboard video of a 812 Superfast launching itself and you might take a good taste of how crazy fast it is.
