This Bugatti Chiron’s Coming Up For Grabs In LA

Considering how few of them there are out there, we sure have seen a good number of Bugatti Chirons come up for sale. No wonder, considering the profit margins some flippers have made. But if you’ve missed your opportunity until now, there’s one coming up for auction, right here in America, in less than a month.

Consigned to Mecum Auctions for its upcoming sale in Los Angeles is an ostensibly US-spec Chiron with a two-tone Atlantic and French Racing blue paintjob, pictured at what looks like the O’Gara showroom in Beverly Hills.

It’s a treatment we’ve seen on numerous Chirons before – even some that have come up for grabs – but this is the first that we can recall seeing with a black interior instead of a deep tan. The brake calipers were painted to match (at a reported cost of $3,750), as were the diamond-cut alloys (for $12,400), and the stitching on the optional seats ($31,000). Just for the options listed, you’re looking at the price of a pretty well-equipped Audi S3 sedan or A5 Sportback.

There’s no estimated price listed for the hypercar with the serial number VF9SP3V31JM795073. Nor do we know how many miles are on it. But you can bet that however much it sells for, it’ll have two commas in the price and eclipse everything else crossing the block at the event… or most others, for that matter.

Of course, like any other of the 70-odd Chirons that Bugatti has made to date, it packs an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine. With 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque channeled to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, it’ll rocket to 60 in 2.3 seconds and won’t stop pulling until it’s hit 261 miles per hour – even more if you manage to remove the speed limiter. But that’s assuming you don’t first run out of fuel, rubber, or road.
