A Lancia 037 Stradale Is One Way To Spend Half A Million Dollars

We certainly love any good homologation special, but when a Lancia 037 Stradale shows up in our radar, we can’t help but feel a little weak at the knees.

Lancia made a total of 207 Stradales to homologate the 037 in Group B, with this one sold new in Japan, where it stayed up until 2016.The car was then sent to Italy for a full restoration which was performed by noted specialists, including several technicians who originally built the car involved in the process.

The Stradale version of the 037 features a bodywork made out of Kevlar reinforced with fiberglass, while its massive tube subframes betray its racing credentials. The suspension utilizes fully independent double wishbones all around, with dual shocks at the rear.

All 207 Stradales were painted red, but this one benefits from a fresh repaint as part of the detailed restoration. The interior was also redone to its correct specification, with the seats re-upholstered in the original, and unique, black Corduroy fabric.

Power comes from a supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sits in the middle of the chassis and is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.

This beautiful machine is described as one of the best restored 037 Stradales out there, and is heading to Bonham’s Skottsdale auction with a price estimate set at between $350,000 and $450,000.
