Last week, a woman in South Africa managed to survive an horrific crash in her Audi TT and over the weekend, a driver in the UK was able to escape from an equally shocking collision.
Members of the Derbyshire police’s Roads Policing Unit posted an image to Twitter showing a red Toyota MR2 wrapped around a lamppost and said that the driver escaped with only minor injuries.
Investigators believe the mid-engine Japanese sports car aquaplaned in wet conditions and slid into the lamppost from the passenger side. The aftermath is shocking.
The MR2 has almost been sliced in half because of the collision and came to a rest just in time so the lamppost didn’t cut the car in two, something which would have almost certainly killed the driver.
In the Twitter post, police reminded motorists to “drive to the conditions.” Wise words.
