Audi Transforms Its Le Mans Racer To A Formula E In Latest Spot

After winning 106 out of 185 races, including 13 victories at Le Mans, Audi has pulled out of the FIA World Endurance Championship and from now on will be focusing their attention on Formula E.

According to the German automaker, Formula E has the greatest potential for the future, which is why they've committed to taking over the ABT team as a factory-backed program. Focusing on a fully electric racing program makes sense for Audi since their plan is to have every fourth model be an electric vehicle by the year 2025, according to development chief Dr. Stefan Knirsch.

With the tagline 'Progress Feels Electric', this video depicts the transition as pitstop that sees their Le Mans prototype become a Formula E race car as the pit crew install new body panels and parts.

Other automakers currently involved with Formula E are Renault, Citroen, Jaguar, Mahindra, NextEV and Faraday Future.
