Appropriately nicknamed the ‘hidden Spider’, this 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spider is now available for sale for the first time in 33 years.
This is the 40th example out of the 121 built in total, and has been in single-family ownership since 1983 and tucked away in a garage for two decades.
The Spider version of the Daytona was revealed one year after the coupe was launched. It used the same 4.4-litre Colombo V12 with six Weber carburetors and 352hp mated to a five-speed transaxle gearbox, with the chassis utilizing independent front and rear suspension and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes.
The Spider version created a loyal fan base, with many preferring the unfettered shoulder lines of the topless version - not to mention that it’s the last vintage grand touring spider Ferrari made.
This 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spider is heading to RM Auctions’ Monterey event on August 18-19 and represents a truly rare opportunity for the right collector.
