If there were ever two cars that deserved to go head to head on the track, it would be the Mercedes-AMG GT R and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Both are track focused weapons, that go about handling their business in completely different ways, despite the strong connection they share. You can also see what Chris Harris had to say about them during a direct comparison test, here.
As for this footage, it comes courtesy of the Sebastian Vittel YouTube channel, showing a green (obviously) AMG GT R playing with a 991 GT3 RS over half a lap of the Nurburgring. And yes, both drivers are really going for it, on the straights and in the corners.
Visually, the two cars seem to be very in sync with each other in terms of acceleration. While the Porsche packs 500 PS (493 HP) and 460 Nm (338 lb-ft) of torque, the AMG GT R has a considerable advantage, rated at 585 PS (577 HP) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).
In spite of that, it's the 991 GT3 RS that can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) quicker, in 3.3 seconds, whereas the Mercedes needs 3.6 seconds. Our question is, which one of these would you rather take out for a spin around the Nordschleife?
