Who Needs An 800HP Merc Estate? Nobody – And That’s Why We Like It

Most of G-Power’s tuning experience may come from creating other-worldly BMWs, but the tuner’s latest Mercedes-AMG E63 S shows that it is just as capable working with the Three-Pointed Star.

This particular E63 S Estate is the previous-generation model and the 603 hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 now delivers a nice, round 800 hp and 737 lb-ft (1000 Nm) of torque.

To achieve these numbers, G-Power has fitted new performance software, custom turbochargers, stainless steel downpipes and a stainless steel exhaust. For E 63 S owners who don’t want the full upgrade package, each of these components can be ordered separately. The software starts at 2437 euros ($2783), the turbos from 5000 euros ($5711), the downpipes from 2240 euros ($2558) and the exhaust is priced at 3866 euros ($4415).

Beyond the performance-focused modifications,G-Power has also developed a set of 20-inch Hurricane wheels shorn with 245/30 rubber at the front and 285/25 at the rear. These beefy tires should help to transmit the power to the ground without too much fuss. Just joking; with that kind of power, it’ll be eating through sets fairly quickly.

If E63 S owners opt for all of G-Power’s modifications, the total bill will exceed 20,000 euros ($23,000). However, if you own an E63 S and feel the need for even more speed, you can probably afford the price of a small hot hatch this kind of oomph.
