BMW M3 Owner Gets $3,100 Worth Of Work For $50 Thanks To CarMax Warranty

There's been a lot of debate about the usefulness of getting a CarMax warranty, as some people swear by them and others think they are a waste of money.

One BMW M3 owner on Reddit is happy to have their warranty, as they reportedly received over $3,100 worth of parts and labor for a $50 deductible.

According to the poster, the check engine light came on so they decided to bring the car to a BMW dealership to have it looked at. The car's seatbelt actuator arm had also stopped working, so he decided to get that fixed as well.

After verifying the owner had a warranty, the dealership went to work and diagnosed the problems before sending CarMax an estimate. Because the estimate was so expensive, CarMax sent out an inspector to confirm the work was necessary and the dealership wasn't over charging them.

Once the inspector signed off on everything, the dealership completed the work and the owner was only charged $50. The entire process took four days, but it didn't seem to be an issue as the owner was provided a loaner vehicle free of charge. Of course, the owner had to purchase the warranty in the first place and that reportedly cost $2499.

The M3 owner isn't the only one who's been happy to purchase a CarMax warranty, as you might remember Doug DeMuro paid $3,900 for a six-year warranty on his Range Rover and has received over $15,000 in warranty repairs.
