The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated vehicles in years and Elon Musk has revealed the car's launch date will be announced shortly.
In response to a Twitter user begging the executive to stop the speculation about the car's release date, Musk responded by saying the company will "have news on Sunday."
The executive has previously said the car is on track for a July launch, so the announcement will likely confirm when the first production models will be headed for eager customers. We could also learn more about the car's final specifications but nothing is official as of yet.
While there's a lot we still don't know about the car, Tesla has already confirmed the Model 3 will accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than six seconds and have a range of at least 215 miles (346 km). The car will also come equipped with the company's semi-autonomous driving system and has been "designed to attain the highest safety ratings in every category."
In an effort to ramp up production quickly, customers will only be able to choose the car's exterior color and wheel size. That doesn't leave much room for customization but drivers can expect a minimalist interior with a three-spoke steering wheel, wood trim, and a 15-inch touchscreen display.
