Honda's Nurburgring record for FWD cars, currently held by the Civic Type R, but this may change soon if Renault has its way with the upcoming Megane RS.
Naturally, the French hot hatch is being tested at the Nordschleife as part of its ongoing development process, where two camouflaged prototypes were recently filmed doing the rounds together.
With the Civic Type R in its sight, and targeting the Ford Focus RS and Volkswagen Golf R as well, the all-new Renault Megane RS will allow customers to choose between two different chassis settings.
It will also benefit from an enhanced rear-wheel steering, bigger brakes, stiffer suspension and a bunch of other upgrades, which, together with the 2.0-liter turbo four making some 300hp, aim to help the Megane RS reclaim the title of the class leader for Renault.
