2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe And Cabrio To Bow In Frankfurt

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the 2018 S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet will debut at September's Frankfurt Motor Show.

As with the facelifted S-Class sedan, the new S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet will receive some slight visual updates but perhaps more importantly, a selection of technology upgrades that promise to lift the flagship Mercedes sedan alongside the 7-Series and all-new A8.

Among these changes will be a selection of new engines, including a new biturbo V8 found in the S560 sedan and delivering 469 PS and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. Elsewhere, both Coupe and Cabriolet models are expected to receive a host of other petrol and diesel-driven variants, including a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel that produces either 286 PS and 600 Nm or 340 PS and 700 Nm, depending on its spec.

Another important upgrade that premiered with the facelifted sedan is a newly developed version of Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive. It incorporates advanced functions like Active Steer Assist, DISTRONIC Active Proximity Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist and Traffic Sign Assist. It also includes a Remote Parking Assist function like the 7-Series and A8.

We expect AMG S63 and S65 variants of the facelifted S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet to debut a few months after Frankfurt.
