Steve Sutcliffe Samples Electrifying 455HP Renault Zoe E-Sport On The Track

Renault unveiled the Zoe E-sport concept earlier this year in Geneva, and we've been wanting them to put this little monster in production ever since.

While that might not happen any time soon, it's certainly easy to understand why somebody would wish for it. The Zoe E-sport weighs just 1,400 kg (3,086 lbs), and puts down 460 PS (455 HP) as well as 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque.

It will get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds, and hit 210 km/h (130 mph) in less than 10 seconds, while sounding exactly like a Formula E car.

According to EVO's Steve Sutcliffe, the Zoe E-sport is a tremendously fun car to drive on the track. He was particularly impressed with how quickly it accelerates (thanks to instant torque), and with how well it brakes.

As for how the car was set up for the track, he noticed that despite the liftoff oversteer element, the Zoe E-sport tends to understeer a lot. In other words, a definite work in progress.

If this type of car truly represents the future of hot hatchbacks, or fast superminis in general, we can't wait for time to pass.
