Uber CEO Apologizes After Firm Loses London License

Days after Uber was stripped of its operating license in London, the company’s new chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi has taken to Twitter to apologize for Uber’s mistakes.

In the letter addressed to Londoners, Khosrowshahi admitted that the ride-hailing service has “got things wrong along the way” and that the company will strive to run its “business with humility, integrity and passion.”

“While Uber has revolutionized the way people move in cities around the world, it’s equally true that we’ve got things wrong along the way. On behalf of everyone at Uber globally, I apologize for the mistakes we’ve made.

“We will appeal this decision on behalf of millions of Londoners, but we do so with the knowledge that we must also change. As Uber’s new CEO, it is my job to help Uber write the next chapter,” Khosrowshahi wrote.

Late last week, the city’s regulator of public transportation, Transport for London, said that Uber London isn’t fit and proper for a private hire operator license.

Uber says it will challenge the decision in the courts and continue to operate in London until all of its appeals have been exhausted.
