Mercedes-AMG A45 POV Drive Might Make You Want One

The Mercedes-AMG A45 may no longer be the hot hatch king, but that doesn’t mean it's any less exciting to drive, as pointed out in this review.

Before moving on to the actual film, let's cover some of its key aspects: it certainly looks the part, with that mean body kit, it has a sporty interior, and it sounds great.

In terms of power, the engineers over at Mercedes-AMG have managed to squeeze a whopping 381PS (376hp) and 475Nm (350lb-ft) of torque from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which was near supercar territory a decade or so ago.

The Stuttgart automaker claims that the A45 needs just 4.2 seconds from naught to 100km/h (62mph), before topping out at an electronically limited 250km/h (155mph). By comparison, that's just 0.1 seconds slower than a Ferrari F430 Spider, which preceded the 458 Spider.

So, how much does one have to pay to enjoy an AMG A45 of their own? At least €51,527 ($61,836) in Germany, a small fortune indeed for a compact hot hatch, but the more powerful Audi RS3 Sportback is even more expensive, at €54,600 ($65,524), while the VW Golf R, with its 310PS (306hp), starts from €40,675 ($48,813).
