The Bugatti Chiron recently set a new world record for traveling from 0-400-0 km/h (0-248-0 mph) in 41.96 seconds and it appears that feat hasn't gone unnoticed by Koenigsegg.
As discovered by Motor1, the Swedish company recently took to Facebook to taunt their French rivals by posting a photo of an Agera RS with a caption saying "0-400-OMG." The company declined to elaborate but promised more details are coming soon.
Despite their silence, there's little doubt that Koenigsegg is planning to announce the Agera RS has beaten the Chiron's record. This wouldn't be too surprising as Koenigsegg has previously set a record for going 0-300-0 km/h (0-186-0 mph) in 17.95 seconds in the One:1.
The Agera RS has a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 1,160 hp (865 kW) and 1,280Nm (944 lb-ft) of torque. However, the model is also available with a One:1 upgrade package which boosts the car's output to 1,360 hp (1,014 kW) and 1,369 Nm (1,011 lb-ft) of torque.
For comparison, the Chiron has a quad turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine with 1,479 hp (1,103 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.4 seconds and 0-400 km/h (0-248 mph) in 32.6 seconds.
