Ferrari is in the midst of rolling out its new 812 Superfast in markets around the world. The latest is France, where the new front-engined V12 supercar made its national debut – in yellow, no less – at the glamorous Mediterranean coastal city of Cannes.
So far, most of what we've seen of the new twelve-cylinder Prancing Horse has been either in red or dark grey. It has popped up on our radar in yellow a couple of times before, but never looking quite as good as it does here.
The replacement for the F12, the new 812 follows in a long line stretching back to the 550 Maranello, through the 575M and the 599 GTB Fiorano. It packs a 6.5-liter V12, naturally aspirated, to deliver 789 horsepower to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, besting even the new Aventador S from arch-rival Lamborghini. 0-62 is quoted in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 211 mph, making it one of the fastest road-going Ferraris to date.
Those figures match the more hardcore F12 TdF, which made yellow its signature color, and which lapped the Fiorano test track in 1:21. We've yet to see a lap time for the new 812, but it'll have to beat LaFerrari's 1:19.7 to take the road-car lap record. Whenever you're ready, Maranello.
