BMW conducted its first official test for the M8 GTE last week, shortly after it dropped a teaser sketch of the car. As with a set of photos released from that test, this teaser clip provides a detailed look at the race car, both inside and out.

Next year, the M8 GTE will make its competitive debut and compete in a selection of racing series' around the world, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Additionally, the M8 GTE will race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as part of a factory-backed effort.

The world had its first glance of the road-going M8 in late May, and while the car was shown under heavy camouflage, we know that it's twin-turbo V8 engine borrowed from the M5 will deliver over 600 hp and be paired with an xDrive all-wheel drive system with a rear-wheel drive only mode.
