It’s not outrageous to say that we’re living in a glory age for the American muscle car.
The market is flooded with a plethora of models, variants and options which combine cutting edge technology with the brutal V8s that made muscle cars so synonymous throughout the world.
Long gone are the days when muscle cars were one-trick ponies that could only drive quickly in a straight line, track-focused variants are now among the most capable sports cars on the market, something which would have seemed absolutely ludicrous just a decade ago.
Among the finest offerings in the market are the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat siblings and while they aren’t as capable at a circuit as alternatives like the Shelby Mustang GT350R and Camaro ZL1 1LE, both have supercar-beating performance from FCA’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8.
