2019 BMW X4 Looks To Make Crossover Coupes Attractive

The 2019 BMW X4 was recently spotted undisguised near the company's plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina and now we have additional photos of the upcoming model.

Looking more attractive than its predecessor, the redesigned crossover adopts an aggressive front bumper with large air intakes that feature metallic accents and horizontal LED lights. Elsewhere, designers installed a more prominent grille as well as stylish headlights.

Moving further back, the X4 has front fender vents, streamlined bodywork, and a slightly sportier roofline. The tailgate also sees a number of revisions as it is less boxy and comes equipped with slimmer taillights.

Underneath the skin, the X4 will ride on the CLAR architecture which also underpins the new X3. The change enabled the latter model to lose as much as 55 kg (121 lbs) so we can expect similar weight saving with the X4.

Engine options should largely carryover from the X3 and include a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 360 PS (265 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. On the diesel side, we can expect a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 190 PS (140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque as well as a 3.0-liter six-cylinder developing 265 PS (195 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque.
