New Caterham Seven SuperSprint Sells Out In 7 Hours

Caterham has managed to sell all 60 units of the limited edition Seven SuperSprint in only 7 hours, with the last one being spoken for last Friday, at 1:30pm CET (7:30am EST).

This represents a huge success for the automaker, as the car, which isn’t exactly suitable for daily use, is priced at £29,995 ($39,765) in the United Kingdom, where 30 units will be shipped, while the remaining ones will be delivered to mainland Europe.

"After last year's incredible sales result with the Sprint, we were hoping for similar success with the SuperSprint. Having said that, to sell out within seven hours is something we've neve seen before, and it has set a new sales precedent for Caterham", said the brand's COO, David Ridley.

However, despite selling the entire lot, Caterham continues to take deposits, on a waiting list, in the event of cancellations. This means that if you have your eyes set of the company's second retro Seven unveiled in the last 12 months, which marks the car's 60th anniversary, there a small chance that you might still be able to get one.

Presented last week, during the Goodwood Revival, the new Caterham Seven SuperSprint has a 95PS (94hp) three-cylinder engine, a few special touches on the outside and in the cabin, and it can be had with either one or two seats.
