PSA Group, the owner of Peugeot, Citroen and DS Automobiles, is engineering its next generation of vehicles to meet U.S. regulations as part of their plan to return in North America.
The news were confirmed by PSA Group’s CEO Carlos Tavares who spoke to AutoNews at the sidelines of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
He also added that they’ve decided which of their brands -Peugeot, Citroen or the premium DS- will be the first to show up in North America but they’re not ready yet to announce their decision.
PSA’s plan to return on the U.S. market will be a 10-year effort, as the French auto maker will begin this year making partnerships in the in-car sharing and mobility businesses.
