Despite the C7 Corvette Z06 being the most track-focused road car to ever wear the famed badge, Chevrolet has never released an official Nurburgring lap time for the car.
Fortunately, German magazine Sport Auto brought out the new Z06 to the circuit and set a seriously impressive 7:13.9 lap.
For the run, the publication used a Z06 equipped with the optional Z07 aerodynamics package paired with the available manual transmission. The blistering lap time means that it is the fastest manual car ever taken around Green Hell by Sport Auto, a remarkable achievement for a car that was launched over two years ago.
Making the lap even more impressive is that unlike car manufacturers which lap the track dozens, if not hundreds of times to set the best possible lap, Sport Auto only completes a single flying lap. Under the same conditions, it hustled the Porsche 918 Spyder around the circuit in 7:13.
