Nissan X-Trail Becomes Dog-Friendly With New 'Paw Pack'


It took Nissan a few months to take some of the gadgets of their X-Trail 4Dogs Concept and launch them under the 'Paw Pack'.

Priced at £599 (equal to $775) in the United Kingdom, the optional accessory kit fits all X-Trail models made from 2014 onward, and comprises of six components meant to transform SUV's boot space into a dog-friendly environment.

These are the dog guard boot separator, a ramp that can be used by smaller or less mobile four-legged friends to use for getting in an out easier, boot liner to protect the upholstery from muddy paws, non-spill water bowl, washable dog bed, and tidy used to store leads, treats, and waste bags.

"We're delighted to release this innovative 'Paw Pack' as we believe strongly that pets are important members of the family, as well as excellent travelling companions for those outdoors adventures", said Nissan GB's Product Manager, Grant Richards. "The X-Trail Paw Pack lets our beloved companions to travel with all the comfort and convenience we'd expect, and we look forward to helping our customers buy the perfect car for all their family - including their dogs."

Nissan has dropped some of the more expensive gadgets from the X-Trail 4Dogs, such as the 10-inch LCD screen that allows pets to see their owners, the special camera mounted in the boot that displays images on the infotainment system, pullout shower and dryer, and the system that supplies warm air into the boot, among others.

The new Paw Pack is already available to order at Nissan retailers.
