Tesla's New All-Electric Truck Spotted Out In The Open

This futuristic semi-truck was recently spotted on a small airstrip known to be a common testing ground for Tesla, the same place where the first Model S P85D sighting occurred.

While we can't be absolutely certain this is the EV-maker's eagerly awaited truck, all evidence seems to point to it, including the fact that it resembles this teaser revealed by Elon Musk back in April.

If you recall, that teaser image showed the front fascia of a tall semi that featured flared fenders with embedded daytime running lights. As you can see, this semi also has flared fenders, and the lights appear to be where we thought they'd be too.

There is one thing that doesn't quite add up at first, and that's the height difference between this truck and the one in the teaser image. However, if you look close at the full image, you'll see a large wind deflector a few feet behind the trailer. Strap that thing on and all the dots should connect.

According to Reuters, Tesla's all-electric semi could have a battery range of anywhere between 200 and 300 miles (321 to 482 km) per single charge. We're pretty sure that a removable wind deflector meant to decrease air resistance between the truck and the trailer would have a part to play in that.

Teslarati reports that the semi truck will be unveiled at an event on Thursday, October 26th in Hawthorne, California.
