Hyundai UK announced the pricing and range details of its first proper hot hatch, the new i30N.
Sales of the new Hyundai i30N in the UK will start on January 4, offered in two different power levels: the entry-level 247hp (250PS) version and the more powerful Performance model with 271hp (275PS).
The entry-level i30N will cost from £24,995 while the Performance version starts from £27,995. In comparison, the 230ps VW Golf GTI starts from £28,320 and the 245ps GTI Performance from £29,680.
The base Hyundai i30N will be equipped with features like 18-inch alloy wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, an electronically controlled suspension, along with LED head and tail lights, a smart adaptive cruise control and an eight-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
Besides the obvious horsepower increase, the Performance version adds things like 19-inch alloys with Pirelli P-Zero tires that feature a specific compound for the i30N, an electronic limited-slip differential, bigger brakes, electrically operated leather and suede seats and an active exhaust system among others.
The new Korean hot hatch will also feature N-specific functions in its infotainment system, including a drive mode display, suspension, engine and transmission setup, lap timer, and more. There’s also a launch control system and shift timing lights on both versions of the i30N.
Base 247hp models can get from 0 to 62mph in 6.4 seconds while the 271hp Performance models drop this time by 0.3 seconds, to 6.1 seconds. Both models have an electronically limited top speed at 155mph.
