Ferrari Unveils Rosso Corsa LaFerrari Aperta In Melbourne

A stunning Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, finished in Rosso Corsa, has been unveiled at Melbourne’s Motorclassica.

Although deliveries of the drop-top hybrid hypercar commenced in late-2016, this is the first example to hit Australian soil. It was flown in from Europe and is one of the nine LaFerrari Aperta’s which the Italian marque is using for promotional purposes around the world.

Just 201 examples of the Aperta are bound for the hands of customers, one extra than initially planned. Last month, the final example was auctioned off for charity for a staggering 8.3 million euros ($9.98 million).

Like the ‘regular’ LaFerrari hardtop that came before it, the Aperta features a 6.3-liter V12 engine delivering 789 hp. That blistering engine is then mated to an electric motor that bumps power to 950 hp, enough to launch the hypercar to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3 seconds and through to a top speed exceeding 350 km/h (217 mph).

There is at least one LaFerrari Aperta that has been sold to an Australian customer but without a special permit, it can’t be driven on local roads.
