The Germans don't have the greatest reputation for humor but that hasn't stopped the country's automakers from joking among themselves.
Whether it's BMW M celebrating Mercedes-AMG's 50th anniversary with donuts or Audi welcoming Porsche to Le Mans, the German automakers have always had some fun between them. That trend seems to be spreading as Audi City Berlin has installed a massive billboard mockingly calling the e-tron Sportback concept a "Musk-Have."
The quote, as you're probably aware, is a reference to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. While it sounds odd that an Audi dealership would call out an executive with a concept, the message is pretty clear: we're coming for you.
Unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, the e-tron Sportback concept previews a production model that will be launched in 2019.
The concept featured a massive 95 kWh battery which powered three electric motors (one on the front axle, and two in the rear). This enabled the all-wheel drive crossover to produce up to 496 hp (370 kW) and accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds. More importantly, it could travel more than 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge.
H/T to Jalopnik!
