New Renault Megane RS To Have Two Chassis Settings, 4-Wheel Steering

Renault have dropped more pieces of the new Megane RS puzzle, which will celebrate its world premiere at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The car will come with two chassis settings - 'Sport', said to combine "high performance and ride comfort in everyday use", and 'Cup', "engineered to deliver the ultimate track performance experience".

Moreover, the 2018 Renault Megane RS will also debut four-wheel steering in the competitive compact hot hatch segment. Called 4Control, the system will be controlled by an electromagnetic actuator, fitted on the rear axle, which will allow the car to reach new limits by stabilizing it during high-speed cornering.

Renaultsport continues to keep powertrain details close to its chest, but previous reports indicate that the new Megane RS is expected to use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which should produce around 300 horses. The output will be delivered to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual, or a double-clutch automatic transmission.

Enthusiasts should also expect a beefed up body kit, which will play a double role - making the hot hatch look more aggressive while also improving its aerodynamic properties. As for other features, you can wager on the usual sports suspension, limited-slip differential, bigger brakes, and some tweaks made to the cabin.
