Forget online purchasing, paying for a car with Bitcoins or trying to use food stamps, as this man has just 'paid' for a brand new Opel Astra with YouTube views.
Sure, it might sound like an April Fool's joke, but it's not, as what we're actually looking at here is a clever marketing campaign launched by the German automaker in April.
It's called 'Pay by View', and allows anyone that shoots a film of their test drive in one of the brand's Online Editions, between April 24 and June 30, posts it on YouTube, and gets the required views, to win a new car.
Depending on the number of views, this can be a Karl Rocks (589,900 views), Corsa 3-door (739,600 views), or Astra (922,800 views), along with an Opel roof box (24,200 views) and an iPad holder (3,000 views).
Participant Yuri Schuurkes' video attracted more than 1.1 million views, at the time of writing, so he was handed over the keys to his new Opel Astra, making him the first person to obtain one of the six selected products that can be 'purchased' with views.
Schuurkes' film, which shows 'Spiderman' attacking an Opel dealer, can be seen below.
