Fisker Says Viper's Death Won't Affect VLF Force 1

Henrik Fisker says the impending death of the Dodge Viper won't affect the VLF Force 1, despite the latter using the Viper's underpinnings.

Speaking to Automotive News, the head of design for VLF Automotive revealed that the company will source Vipers thanks to a partnership with Ben Keating, a racing driver and the owner of a Viper dealership in Texas.

“We have more than enough donor cars to be able to do the Force 1. He bought them early on for this project,” Fisker said.

VLF claims to have already started customer deliveries of the Force 1 and asserts that it will cap production to around 50 units, each priced from $268,500.

Beyond its overt styling, the Force 1 uses the 8.4-liter V10 of the Viper, modified to punch out 745 hp at 6,100 rpm and 638 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. This allows the sports car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3 seconds flat and reach a 218 mph (350 km/h) top speed.
