Nissan are making their presence felt in China by launching the Navara locally, which targets not only commercial vehicle customers, but also private owners.
Based on the third-generation pickup truck that debuted in the People's Republic at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show, it is manufactured in partnership with Zhengzhou Nissan and carries a starting price tag of 139,800 yuan (equal to $20,530).
Customers can choose the Nissan Navara in eight variants, with two- or four-wheel drive, and a choice of three transmissions, with five, six, and seven speeds. Powering it is the 2.5-liter engine that makes 181 horses and a peak torque of 251Nm (185lb-ft).
"The Nissan Navara is a proven success in markets around the world and now is poised to set a new standard for pickups in China," said Nissan's Light Commercial Vehicles Senior VP, Ashwani Gupta. "The Navara’s high-end features will guarantee a new, elevated driving experience – both for individual owners and commercial users, alike."
