2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Priced From $20,235, GT Sport From $24,135

Hyundai announced the pricing and range details of the 2018 Elantra GT and GT Sport models.

The 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT is basically the US-spec version of the i30, offering the same European styling and, according to Hyundai USA, a viable alternative to small CUVs.

The company also says that it’s one of the few hatchbacks that’s been classified by the EPA as a Large Car, due to its big interior volume, with the new Elantra GT offering more room than the Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus, Mazda 3, VW Golf and Toyota Corolla iM.

The 2018 Elantra GT is powered by a 161hp 2.0-liter GDI four-cylinder engine which is paired either to a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission. The more powerful Elantra GT Sport features the turbocharged 201hp 1.6-liter T-GDI four-cylinder unit which comes with a standard six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Just like the Elantra Sport sedan, the Elantra GT utilizes a multi-link rear suspension for a more dynamic handling and fun-to-drive character on the road. The Sport version also comes with larger brakes front and rear and 18-inch wheels wrapped in high-performance all-season tires.

Inside there’s an eight-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a rearview camera. There’s also a wireless charging pod, heated and ventilated front seats and a premium audio system with seven speakers.

Pricing kicks off at $20,235 for the 2.0-liter Elantra GT with a manual while the turbocharged Elantra GT Sport starts from $24,135. The above prices include an $885 destination charge.
