The 2018 Renault Megane RS has been caught on video ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Dressed in heavy camouflage, the clips show a handful of prototypes undergoing testing in Europe.
While there isn't much to see, patent images have revealed the car will have an aggressive front fascia with larger air intakes and distinctive LED fog lights. The hot hatch will also come with front fender vents, a ventilated rear bumper, and a center-mounted exhaust system. Outer highlights include a massive rear diffuser and lightweight alloy wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking.
Renault has been slowly teasing the model and it is slated to come with a 4Control four-wheel steering system that uses an electromagnetic actuator on the rear axle. Fans can also expect more traditional upgrades including a sportier suspension and a limited-slip differential.
Rumors suggest the call will be powered by a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops more than 300 PS (220 kW). It will be connected to a standard six-speed manual transmission but a dual-clutch automatic gearbox is expected to be optional for the first time.
