Prices for the Kia Stonic will start at £16,295 ($22,021) in the UK when sales of the compact SUV commence on October 23.
For that price, customers will land the entry-level model, equipped with a 1.4-liter engine, rear parking sensors, heated and electric wing mirrors, air conditioning and 17-inch alloy wheels. Moving up the family tree is the First Edition Stonic, priced from £20,495 ($27,696) and standard with a 1.6-liter diesel with 118 hp and returning 67.3 mpg (4.2l/100km) on the European testing cycle.
The Stonic will directly challenge models such as the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and new Hyundai Kona.
In the UK, prices for the Juke begin at £14,880 ($20,108) and swell to £23,395 ($31,616) for the range-topping Juke Nismo RS.
In order to successfully compete in the B-SUV segment, Kia has ensured the Stonic is hip and fun and will therefore sell it in a number of vibrant colors and with eye-catching interior finishes.
Additionally, it comes with all the modern tech most customers demand, such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and can also be optioned with Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian recognition and Forward Collision Alert, Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Departure Warning System.
